1. A thinner redesign
Google says the phone is 13% thinner and 8% lighter than the original Pixel Fold. Google Store lists it at about 10.5 mm when closed, about 5.2 mm when open and 260 g. Google’s design post says the open thickness is 5.1 mm, so treat the open figure as about 5 mm.
2. A new hinge and cooling
The hinge uses multi-alloy steel with an aluminum alloy cover, opens fully flat and snaps shut. Google says it is more durable than the original but gives no durability rating or fold count. A vapor chamber and graphite thermal spreader handle heat.
3. The largest inner display
The 8-inch inner display has a 20:9 aspect ratio, which Google says matches the Pixel 9 Pro, and smaller bezels than the previous generation. The outer 6.3-inch display and the back use Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
4. Triple cameras and Made You Look
The rear system is a triple camera with 5x optical zoom and up to 20x Super Res Zoom, in a redesigned double-stacked camera bar. The ultrawide now supports Macro Focus.
